Kaggwa James

Co-founder and Executive Director Uganda.

My name is James Kaggwa
Co-founder and Executive Director Uganda.  Among the many children that have been victims of impoverished poverty and faced starvation I was one of them. Abandoned by my mother at 3(three months) old and orphaned at the age of seven years I didn’t see any way through, life was a dark gloomy and hopelessly empty. In 1971, During Political turmoil and religious persecution of Idi Amin’s ruthless regime my father a pastor was shot dead. To date we don’t know where he was buried.

However a fellow pastor picked me up together with my four siblings and took us to the orphanage “Ambassadors of Hope” now known as African Children’s Choir. Through the sponsorship program and love of generous individuals whom many we never met I received formal education as professional teacher and gifted great musician specialized in Vocal training and a guitarist. Two words free us of all the weight and pain of life: Those words are LOVE and HOPE today we are what we are because individuals, sponsors and donors decided to reach out beyond boarder and for that we are ever grateful. Today just like I was, in Uganda are many deprived children who can’t afford education, a proper meal and medical care and blanket over their head. During the COVID 19 pandemic many children dropped out of school, early marriages increased, child abuse amplified as many parents failed to provide basic needs. Hope can take on a life of its own. We yearn to make a difference hence Pastures of Hope is committed to supporting and empower the vulnerable in Uganda. Through Pastures of Hope and people like you we can reach out to the most vulnerable and change lives one soul at a time. We need hope, or else we cannot endure.
